FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (February 1, 2007):
JusticeSeekers to Clear Name of "French Anne Young"
The first lawsuit filed under our new firm name is the enclosed case of French Anne Young vs. Courtney L. Burkholder. It is a libel suit.
Shakespeare’s Iago declares that "good name in man and woman, dear my lord, is the immediate jewel of their souls." There is much truth and wisdom in these words.
"Google" is both the boon and bane of the Internet age. It is great if it helps you find truthful information about something or someone. It is awful if it propagates libel. When my friend French Anne Young’s daughter Emily Googled her mother, she was horrified to be linked to www.courtneyburkholder.com and to read excerpts from a book manuscript entitled Housewife on the Edge which vilified the good name of her mother.
The next day, Emily called her mother. While they talked, French Anne penned an email to Courtney Burkholder, seeking some explanation. When the email was not answered, she called me. My TLC brother Ron Estefan and I prepared the necessary legal papers.
Hopefully, reason will prevail and a public apology and retraction will be immediately forthcoming. If not, we will seek justice at the courthouse.
